FieldSight is a technological platform for remote monitoring, supervision, and quality assurance on humanitarian, development, and construction projects. It connects semi-skilled and project personnel working in the field with skilled and management personnel based in regional or central offices. It provides tools to customize remote data collection, deliver education and reference materials, and improve communication across multiple channels in order to enhance the work of teams working on distant and remote project sites. Built to scale, FieldSight works on projects with one to thousands of sites, and includes tools for review, coordination, and analysis across aggregated data.

The project managers and implementing organizations face numerous challenges while working in remote and resource-constrained environments ;including limited accessibility to sites, strained technical capacity, insufficient budgets and many more. Fieldsight  attempts to address many of the challenges like this while also taking advantage of recent developmental activities such as improvements and price reductions for mobile technology and the increasing reach of mobile networks.

FieldSight mainly ensures that progress and quality can be better monitored, tracked, and captured throughout construction and project implementation. It consists of a web-based application and an android-based mobile application connected via a central server. The web application allows organizations , program managers to set-up and configures projects as well as to review data that is submitted by field users. The mobile application on the other hand can be used to collect and submit data from field sites. Tools for assessing submissions, sharing project plans and guidance materials, and communicating across multiple channels further enhance the connection between office and site, facilitating coaching, collaboration, and capacity building.Following are some key features of this tool

FieldSight is in the verse of implementation among several national and international organizations for progress monitoring and quality assurance. The first version of the product has already been piloted and is being successfully used by organizations for location enabled data collection and management and now in the verge of expanding over many different countries with added features and functionalities..The system has been used by many development agencies including UN offices, Nepal Reconstruction Authority and the usage is also expanding to other countries Bangladesh , Myanmar etc.

Naxa is  lead technical partner in the joint venture developing FieldSight. We are working closely with the UNOPS team to design, build, and maintain the software platform. This included developing a mobile application available on the Google PlayStore, a web application, and a back-end for data collection and storage based on OpenDataKit. We are also working directly with users of the platform to provide support and to respond to ongoing changes and needs.
